Joe Williams, Tony Williams and Janet Lumpkin. This is the family behind Solar Control, a window film
business for residential and vehicle windows.
Solar Control, which has two offices in Ocean Springs, one in Biloxi, Mobile, AL, and Jackson, MS, is the
only authorized 3M Scotchtint and Prestige window film dealer in Southern Mississippi. Solar Control is
stocked with 3M tinting in a variety that appeals to the diverse needs of their customers, ranging from 3M
film that reduces head, glare, fading, and holds glass together due to breakage. Window film has proven
itself to be essential for destruction, break-ins and property protection. In charge of the Ocean Springs
automotive glass tinting whop is Williams' son, Tony Williams, partnered with Shey Businelle. Tony said
that customers need not be concerned with the Mississippi tinting laws, because Solar Control will check
the tint before applying their products to guarantee that the tint meets the state requirements.
We are the oldest window film business around. The reason why is that we have the best products and
the support that comes with it. Solar Control was founded by Williams' father in 1975, who purchased the
original 3M franchise after retiring from the military. Williams took over the business after graduating from
Wichita State University and a professional football career. Continuing the tradition, Solar Control remains
in the family, with Williams' children Janet and Tony learning the trade with plans of taking over when
Williams retires.
